In the serene, upscale community of Winter Park, Florida, the owners of a $10 million waterfront home needed top-tier, around-the-clock security protection that would preserve the home’s clean, sleek aesthetics. This 6,800 square-foot residence was designed to be their “forever home,” uniquely crafted from glass and concrete and located on a secluded peninsula. The project demanded a modern solution that would remain discreet, ensuring the home’s beauty and elegance would remain undisturbed.
Locally-owned security company Orlando Emergency Signal (OES) was up to the challenge, turning to Resideo’s ProSeries Platform, known for its sleek design and robust security capabilities. The OES and Resideo project involved several strategic joint meetings, on-site visits, and adjustments to the installation plan to ensure seamless integration. The result? A happy client and successful project, which recently won the Security Solutions Award from Security Sales & Integration.
Designing a Customized Solution
Knowing that selecting the most intelligent, fully connected smart home security products was crucial to making this project a success, the team selected a combination of solutions from Resideo’s ProSeries Platform to meet the homeowner’s unique needs, including:

- The PROWLTOUCH ProSeries 7-inch Wireless Touchscreen that is easy to conceal and access when needed.
- The Honeywell Home PROSIXC2W ProSeries Hardwired-to-ProSIX Wireless Converter from Resideo, which enables the retrofitting of existing 12V security systems by converting their wired sensors to SIX™ Wireless Technology.
“Once we reviewed the building plans and the client’s wish list, we knew this was the perfect home for the ProSeries family of products. With features like dual-path reporting, Z-Wave, Bluetooth disarming, extended range, motion viewers, wireless secondary keypads, and wireless sirens, it was easy,” said Marvin Smith, president of OES. “As we were meeting with the client and reviewing all the requirements, everything fell into place. Throughout the project, OES collaborated with Resideo to ensure the installation was executed flawlessly, starting from the planning phase and extending beyond product provision.
“Per the client’s request, all equipment had to be hidden. This meant working with the client, general contractor and Resideo to ensure all equipment could be selected and installed while meeting technical standards and aesthetic requirements,” said Smith.
The OES team delivered the following for the Florida family:
Custom cabinets with internal electrical outlets that ensure the equipment remains unseen.- Hidden cabinetry constructed to house a wireless repeater.
- Wireless sirens strategically placed above ledges and under furniture to maintain the home's aesthetic.
- Motion detectors installed in bedrooms, hallways, and entertainment areas, all while blending in with decor and the natural lines of the home.
- Motion detectors installed inconspicuously in key areas.
- Panic buttons cleverly hidden in closets, under nightstands, dressers and drawers.
- Water sensors beneath appliances, cabinets and air conditioning units.
Doors and windows prewired with recessed sensors and then added to the system via the PROSIXC2W hardwired to wireless converter.- Hidden panic room with First Alert smoke and fire detectors, silent and audible panic buttons and security camera access.
- Glassbreak sensors attached to the hidden side of furniture facing windows, under stairs, on unseen cabinet sides and even behind bathtubs between the fixture and the windows.
